Discover the Metartum Project: Unveiling the Cultural Legacy of Psiloritis Mountain
Nestled within the heart of Psiloritis Mountain, among its ancient stones and whispers of tradition, Metartum comes to life as a digital marvel. It seamlessly blends art, heritage, and innovation, showcasing the mountain's rich natural and cultural heritage in a way that resonates with today's digital explorers. Designed for both iOS and Android devices, Metartum serves as a gateway, intertwining the rugged beauty of Psiloritis with folk melodies, contemporary culture, and cutting-edge technologies.
Through the Digital Actions Program of the Ministry of Culture's Directorate of Contemporary Culture, the Cultural Organization Androidus, in collaboration with the Foundation of Technology and Research (Human-Machine Interaction Laboratory) and the Municipality of Anogeia, has completed the first augmented reality art exhibition for Psiloritis in the form of a digital application.
Our application offers a unique navigation and guiding experience, allowing users to explore Psiloritis through the lenses of art, technology, and cultural heritage. By presenting three original works, three landmarks, and three artists, we focus on the essence of Psiloritis, where technology, art, tradition, and innovation converge.
Metartum merges modern expressions of art and culture with the folk heritage of Psiloritis, turning the mountain into an alternative workshop of inspiration, expression, and creation. The application captures the creative process through three unique performances, breathing life into Psiloritis' first Open Augmented Reality Art Exhibition.
Inspired by a myth of Ancient Greece, the artists have crafted three new works of contemporary art, reflecting their individual interpretations of today's message and impact.
The Metartum Project unveils new horizons in bridging tradition with contemporary art and technology, offering a journey of discovery into the legacy of Psiloritis. It leaves room for exploration and expansion into new approaches aimed at creatively leveraging the cultural and natural wealth of Psiloritis Geopark.
