Epimenidis II De Rerum Naturae
Celebrating Art and Nature: The Idaean Cave Cultural Encounter
The fusion of myth and the historical persona of Epimenides with the philosophical poetic work "On the Nature of Things" by Lucretius inspired this year's artistic rendezvous within the timeless cultural nucleus of the Idaean Cave, as part of the program 'All of Greece, One Culture,' on August 22nd and 23rd, 2023.
The event revolves around the core composition of multidimensional art forms inspired by the philosophy of reimagining nature and the human-environment relationship.
With an array of diverse art forms and techniques or crafts developed over time in Cretan culture, such as weaving, pottery, woodwork, visual arts, theater, and dominant music production, Epimenides II "awakens" around the concept of human contribution to the environment, which lives, creates, and evolves.
